Quarterback play does make a difference.

Yes, it takes a village to make an offense click.

It takes timing, execution and chemistry with offensive linemen and big-play receivers and backs all operating in sync. It’s a choreographed dance.

But still, QBs are the focal point. They get scrutinized. They languish in criticism or lounge in praise. And teammates notice.

And that’s why the play of Utah’s Troy Williams loomed so large in the Utes' final three scoring drives during their comeback victory over USC. It’s why BYU needs Taysom Hill, after basically eight months off, to find his mojo in the Cougars’ new offense.
