Arkansas State definitely won the pregame last night, as 26,000 + turned out on a surprising fall-ish weather evening to watch Blake Anderson unveil his 2016 squad and all of its potential. But that was about all that went right last night in Jonesboro as Toledo shoved its way past the Red Wolves 31-10. The highlight of the night, as far as crowd response, might have been multi positon talent Cam Echols Luper’s punt for 68 yards in the first quarter. That pretty much sums up how the game went for the hone squad.
Toledo was able to rush consistently for first down gains to stay ahead of the chains early and gave a stifling effort on defense to keep the Red Wolves off balance as Toledo outgained the home team 556 to 266.
