When the dust cleared on Florida International's 2016 signing class, head coach Ron Turner's staff had brought in 20 players during National Signing Day alone.
After decommits from several important prospects sent the class spiraling to the lower half of the Conference USA, FIU opted to make sure to sign their remaining recruits listed and a few more.
Running back D'angelo Ware and quarterback Malik Tyson were both signed after not being listed initially by Scout.com, 247sports or Rivals as commits. Tyson, a 6-foot, 170 pound dual threat quarterback whose only other reported offer was from Alcorn State, will probably redshirt to save a year of eligibility while Alex McGough continues his role as starting quarterback.
