“The Battle for the Belt,” was a game nothing short of spectacular between two in-state rivals. The Troy Trojans went up against a South Alabama team determined to knock the Trojans down a notch.
The Jaguars played well throughout the game, holding the lead majority of the game. The Trojans fumbled the ball on the opening drive that would eventually turn into seven points for South Alabama. South took a 21-13 lead to end the first half.
The third quarter went well for both defenses, as each didn’t give up a score. The Trojans went on a couple of long drives that helped them tie the game up at 21.
