Mading inks with Texas Tech

The Texas Tech men’s basketball added much-needed size and depth to its frontcourt.

Daniel Mading, a 6-foot-9, 175-pound small forward prospect from Gainseville (Fla.) Rock School, signed his national letter of intent Wednesday to play for the Red Raiders.

The three-star rated athlete by 247Sports took an official visit back in February to Lubbock before verbally committing to Texas Tech. He announced his decision on Twitter back on Feb. 14.

“On this day, I’m extremely excited to announce my commitment to play (basketball) at Texas Tech University,” he wrote in a note posted to Twitter.

Before that pledge, Mading originally made an oral commitment to Arizona State last December before opening up his recruitment.
