Smoke from the wildfires burning out west have slowly made their way across the country and have been visible in Connecticut. They followed the jet stream tens of thousands of feet in the air.
“The smoke has made its way from the west coast,” said Alan Dunham, a meteorologist with the National Weather Center, Boston. “It makes for a kind of unique sunrise and sunset. We’re not seeing a nice, bright sun. It’s just dimming the sunshine.”
While southern New England at times sees smoke from fires in Canada, “we don’t usually see anything from the west coast,” he said.
