The University of Connecticut reported 3 new positive cases of COVID-19 among its on campus students, bringing the total since the beginning of the semester to 30.
University spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz said in a release Tuesday that all “three are believed to be connected to the existing cluster of positive cases on campus, meaning they are not unrelated cases appearing independent of one another in different parts of campus.”
Reitz said one student who was positive and was in insolation had recovered and left isolation and that the university was aware of four cases among off-campus students who were tested because they will be visiting campus for classes, and two positive cases among faculty and staff who expect to be working regularly on campus.
